The hamlet of Overthorpe lies on the western edge of Northamptonshire, just 2 miles from the Oxfordshire market town of Banbury, and overlooking the Cherwell Valley.

The hamlet comprises just over 70 houses. The Parish of Overthorpe includes the hamlet itself, and the houses, schools and businesses on Blacklock’s Hill.

The nearby village of Middleton Cheney (1.5 miles) provides shops, schools, library, post office, pubs and other facilities. The nearest mainline railway station is Banbury, with frequent fast trains to London (70 minutes), Birmingham, Oxford and Reading.
